Draft. This is a starting draft, not legal advice — it is pending review by counsel and reconciliation with each app’s App Store privacy label before publishing. Last updated June 2026.

The short version

We make a small number of apps and we try to be careful with your data, the same way we try to be careful with everything else. We keep what we need to make the apps work well, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to track you around the internet for advertising. For ColorBlindMe, your camera stays on your device and your color-vision results are private. The rest of this page explains the details in plain language.

Who we are

Lucubra Studio is the publishing name of Lucubra LLC. When this policy says “we,” “us,” or “the studio,” it means Lucubra LLC, the company responsible for our apps and for handling the data described here. This policy applies to ColorBlindMe, White Noise HD, and this website.

What we collect, and why

To run our apps and keep them working, we collect a limited amount of usage and performance data — for example, which features get used, whether something crashed, and basic technical details about the device and app version. We use this to fix bugs, understand what’s useful, and make the apps better. We do not need your name, email, or other personal contact details to use the apps.

Today, this usage data is tied to a device identifier rather than to a named account. We are planning optional accounts so that, if you choose to sign in, your settings and results can sync across your devices. Accounts will be opt-in — you will be able to keep using the apps without one.

ColorBlindMe specifics

Your camera stays on your device

ColorBlindMe uses your camera to show you how color appears through your color vision. Those camera frames are processed on your device, in real time. They are never uploaded, never recorded, and never sent anywhere by us.

Your color-vision results are private

ColorBlindMe is a screening tool — it gives you a sense of your color vision; it is not a medical diagnosis. Your color-vision results are sensitive, so we treat them that way. We only store them when you explicitly opt in (for example, to save a profile or share how you see). You can delete saved results at any time, and deleting them removes them from our records.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data. We don’t sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
  • We don’t run third-party ad tracking. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers to follow you across other apps and websites.
  • We don’t record your camera. ColorBlindMe’s camera frames stay on your device.

Your choices and rights

You have meaningful control over your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights — we aim to honor reasonable requests regardless of location. You can:

  • Access a summary of the data associated with your use of the apps.
  • Delete your saved data, including any color-vision results you chose to store.
  • Adjust permissions — for example, you can turn off camera access in your device settings, though some features won’t work without it.

To make a privacy request, email us at support@lucubrastudio.com. We’ll do our best to respond promptly.

Children

Our apps are made for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information they shouldn’t have, contact us at support@lucubrastudio.com and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

As our apps grow — for example, when optional accounts arrive — we’ll update this policy and change the “last updated” date above. If we make a significant change to how we handle your data, we’ll do our best to let you know.
